Tyrone Gorre

UC Davis Certificate in Green Building & Sustainable Design

Born in Sacramento and raised in the Sierra Foothills, I have gained the utmost respect and appreciation for the diverse California environment and its many natural resources. Resources that are rapidly becoming expensive, hard to get, completely unavailable or even extinct. Time, wisdom and experience has made me aware of issues that we can no longer ignore. This now makes me responsible and committed to the preservation and restoration of the gifts that Mother Nature has bestowed upon our parents, grandparents and the ancestors of this wonderful land.

Working at One River Medicine provides me an opportunity to pursue life-long passions I have had with plants, animals, the environment and people. The Confluence at One River Medicine is a special place that allows me to meet with all people, businesses and agencies interested in creating social and economic change toward a sustainable community, country and world. Having a greater respect for Mother Nature and the Earth will only occur through the education of our society with an emphasis on the youth and young adults.

Listed below are some of the ways I have directed my attention and efforts:

  • Green Building and Sustainable Design – Consultant
  • Confluence Tea Shop at One River Medicine – Co-owner
  • Sierra Salmon Alliance – Co-founder
  • Hooked-Up – Fishing, Hunting & Recreation Guide
  • Cedar Springs Garden (edible, native & medicinal plants) – Co-creator

Bill Jacobson

I’m an experienced and innovative community developer who understands how to use technology to support and cultivate powerful and purposeful human relationships.

In my early career I was a public administration professional and I led successful initiatives to help local government address the community life of seniors, restore culturally valuable historical places  and improve community outreach communication.  I also developed alternative energy conservation and generation proposals for a major utility provider.

Later, working as a “home-based” Technology Consultant and Trainer, I provided software and communication technology services to IBM Business Centers throughout the Southwest. As a technology strategist for a fortune 1000 organization, I developed and oversaw the implementation of a shared network environment that delivered a graphical user interface and internet “email” access to forty offices nationwide, and a technology leasing model that would ensure long term access to current technology.

In 1993 I opened Bill Jacobson Internet, providing web development and internet access service. I developed interactive and action-oriented websites for numerous small business, corporate, government, NGO and grass roots constituencies.

Today, as Community Builder & Technology Strategist for Social Alliance Network, I bring this wealth of expertise, insight, and creative ideas to Sierra Salmon Alliance with the intention to use technology as a support tool in helping salmon return to their original homes throughout the Sierra Nevada Foothills.

In addition to my work with Sierra Salmon Alliance, I serve as community builder for Calling Back the Salmon,  Lead Tribal Representative in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission dam relicensing for Maidu Summit Consortium, and am founder of Social Alliance Network.
