Sierra Salmon Alliance FERC Consultant capabilities include cultural resource identification; literature searches; cultural resources surveys to locate, identify, and evaluate historic and traditional cultural property surveys; data mining; historic context studies; and National Register Nomination documentation. We prepare technical reports, regulatory documents for state and federal compliance (including NEPA and Section 106, FERC compliance communication, cultural resources mitigation plans, Memoranda of Agreements, cultural resources inventory forms, and computer databases.

Cultural assessment can include:

Archival Review
Conduct recorded site file searches; review relevant correspondence between the project proponent, stakeholders and FERC; and, review pertinent environmental, archaeological, ethnographic and historical literature appropriate to the project area.

Field Identification
Field inventories of project locations for identification of traditional cultural resources that fit within FERC APE guidelines.

Documentation of Findings
Document and record traditional cultural properties within the project area, including preparation of historic site(s) forms and National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) Determination of Eligibility (DOE) forms (as appropriate).

Cultural Resource Assessment Reports
Prepare technical reports that detail background research, field methodology, results of the investigation, and management recommendations. Reports provide supporting documentation of cultural property findings, including maps and photographs suitable for submission to FERC.
